IPL basement boys Delhi Daredevils can gain revenge for their defeat to Rajasthan Royals in their rain-affected first meeting of the campaign.

The market looks right to give the edge to Shreyas Iyer's side against Ajinkya Rahane's Royals at Eden Gardens.

After playing their first four games on the road, the Daredevils restricted in-form Kings XI Punjab to 143-8 in Delhi, only to be kept to 139-8 themselves.

In their second home outing, Iyer's first match in charge after Gautam Gambhir stepped down, the Daredevils beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 55 runs. Iyer slammed 93 not out and received fine support from opener Prithvi Shaw's 62 in a total of 214-4 .

In between those home games, Delhi were not belittled in Bangalore, and since their success over Kolkata, they made a decent attempt at chasing down table-topping Chennai Super Kings' 211-4 on Monday. Talented keeper-bat Rishabh Pant cracked 79 and all-rounder Vijay Shankar tonked a 31-ball 54 not out in Pune.

The Daredevils' overseas batting aces Glenn Maxwell and Colin Munro are due game-changing knocks but they can go from cameo to crazy in an instant and this match represents an ideal opportunity for them to star.

The Royals lost by 11 runs at home to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday when chasing a target of 152, making it three defeats in four games. The victory came over Mumbai Indians in Jaipur and the Daredevils have downed the out-of-sorts holders too.
