Delhi Daredevils made it three heartbreaking defeats out of three for holders Mumbai Indians on Saturday and they look a value bet to follow up against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Gautam Gambhir's gang were off the pace with the bat when losing their first two games but they were on point with with the willow at the Wankhede Stadium.

England opener Jason Roy was the Daredevils' hero, hitting 91 not out on his debut, and there was decent support in their chase of 194-7 from rising stars Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. Pant cracked a 25-ball 47 and Iyer was not out on 27.

Gambhir and Glenn Maxwell hit the ball cleanly in brief cameos before being casualties of the need to push. New T20 international Vijay Shankar and evergreen all-rounder Dan Christian were still in the hutch.

The Knight Riders showed how good they can be in their opener when beating the Royal Challengers in Bangalore.

However, they were comfortably beaten at home on Saturday by Hyderabad Sunrisers, struggling to 138-8 and failing to knock Kane Williamson's men out of their stride.

When they lost in Chennai, Kolkata were 89-5 before an Andre Russell blitz and the Super Kings were always in control in their chase of 203.
