Confidence is a crucial factor in Twenty20 cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow will be swaggering to the crease in Delhi after starting the season with three century stands in a row.

Warner dominated the first two partnerships, making 85 against Kolkata and 69 against Rajasthan, but his 100 against Bangalore on Sunday was overshadowed by Bairstow's brutal 114 off 56 balls, featuring 12 fours and seven sixes.

The England man faces a Delhi Capitals side reeling after one of the most spectacular collapses in IPL history.

The Capitals lost their last seven wickets for eight runs in 17 balls to lose by 14 runs against Kings XI Punjab, sparking some serious soul-searching in the Delhi camp.

They had needed 23 off 21 balls before Rishabh Pant's dismissal sparked the slide and in their previous game they ended up in a Super Over against Kolkata despite requiring just a run a ball off the last three overs with eight wickets in hand.

It will take a while for in-play punters to regain their faith in Delhi's talented but flaky side and the best bet may be for Bairstow to continue his fine form with a fifty.

He struck 68, 12 and 37 in England's Twenty20 series in the West Indies before 39, 45 and 114 in his first three IPL appearances.
