Melbourne Renegades v Perth Scorchers
BT Sport 2, 8.15am Thursday

Perth Scorchers have won three of the last five Big Bash titles and they are a warm order for victory over Melbourne Renegades in their first game of the 2018-19 campaign.

The Renegades made the semi-finals last term, having finished fifth, fifth, sixth and sixth in their previous four seasons, but their batsmen face a tough test against the Scorchers' plethora of bowling options.

England all-rounder David Willey joins Aussie quicks Andrew Tye, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff in a Perth attack who may well rattle the Renegades' top order.

Dan Christian could have a major role to play in the Melbourne middle order, therefore, and the hard-hitting all-rounder, whose last Twenty20 innings was 52 not out off 19 balls for South African franchise Jozi Stars, looks a tempting price to top-score.
