County Championship Division One & Two matches, 11am Monday

It is shaping up to be a glorious summer for Somerset, who beat Hampshire in the final of the One-Day Cup last month and are top of the County Championship Division One table after four wins out of five.

The Cidermen are 1-2, with the draw no bet, for their pilgrimage to Canterbury to face a Kent side who won promotion last season and have made a solid start to their top-flight campaign.

A more interesting betting heat takes place at Guildford, where champions Surrey lost to Somerset by 102 runs last week.

Rory Burns’s men won ten of their 14 games in 2018 but are without a victory in five outings this summer and their barren run may be extended by Yorkshire.

The White Rose claimed thumping wins away to Kent and Hampshire early in the season and are evens for another successful southern raid.

Rain denied Yorkshire the chance to press home their advantage in last week’s draw with Essex at Headingley but skipper Gary Ballance, the top runscorer in the division, could lead his side to victory over the struggling champions.

Division Two leaders Lancashire were frustrated by a dogged batting display from Leicestershire last time out but they are 8-13 favourites away to Worcestershire.

Durham ended a run of four defeats with a captivating 29-run win over Derbyshire and they have the ideal opportunity to follow up at home to winless Northamptonshire, whose skipper Alex Wakely has resigned the captaincy after a poor start to 2019.
