Division One leaders Somerset face a tough trip to Essex, whose title challenge was boosted by a handsome innings victory over Hampshire in their last home game at Chelmsford.

Essex are evens draw no bet with Somerset 5-6 but a better wager could come in the other top-flight game as Surrey host in-form Warwickshire at The Oval.

Defending champions Surrey remain winless after six matches of the season although they had the better of a rain-affected draw with Yorkshire last time out.

However, Rory Burns’s men were bowled out for 188 and 141 in the reverse fixture against Warwickshire when Bears captain Jeetan Patel claimed 12 wickets.

The Bears then bowled out Nottinghamshire for 97 in a drawn match before a fine win over Yorkshire and they can complete a double over Surrey.
