Chennai Super Kings to resume dominance over Bangalore
Batsmen likely to stretch struggling Royal Challengers
Bangalore v Chennai
Sky Sports Main Event/Cricket, 3.30pm Wednesday
Chennai Super Kings have chalked up four wins from their opening five matches in this year’s Indian Premier League and that form is likely to carry into a fierce contest with bitter rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have struggled to just two wins from five.
It’s a clash that pits super skippers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli against one another and one that fans have been starved of following the visitors’ two-year hiatus from the competition.
The hosts have allowed Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians to run up scores beyond the 200-run mark already this campaign, so a much more economical bowling display will be needed to tame a lethal Super Kings batting contingent comprised of Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and Ambati Rayudu.
Rayudu chalked up 79 runs off 37 deliveries in the slender victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad and should be central to a fifth consecutive win over Bangalore.
