Chennai Super Kings face serious test on return to IPL
Mumbai openers can blast away
Indian Premier League
Sky Sports Cricket, 3.30pm Saturday
Chennai Super Kings return to the IPL after a two-season ban with arguably the toughest fixture on the schedule – away to champions Mumbai.
The Indians are a terrific side on their own patch with quality in the powerplay overs in both innings.
Mumbai’s batting depth gives their openers Evin Lewis and Ishan Kishan licence to blast away from the first ball and the hosts are worth backing to make the higher score in the first six overs.
Their classy pace bowlers could make things difficult for Chennai’s openers and the Super Kings aren’t blessed with the most dynamic options with Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis and Murali Vijay likely to feature at the top of the order.
Recommendation
Mumbai to have higher score in first six overs
