Victory for Melbourne Stars against Brisbane Heat would take them into the Big Bash playoffs and Glenn Maxwell's men shouldn't let the opportunity slip.

The Stars lost against Perth Scorchers last time out but before that setback they had won three games in a row, including a five-run home victory over the Heat.

Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are dangerous, in-form batsmen for the Melbourne franchise while Nepal youngster Sandeep Lamichhane returns to join fellow leg-spinner Adam Zampa in a well-balanced bowling attack.

The Heat still have a slender chance of a top-four finish but their batting has been inconsistent this season and they may struggle to claim the win they need against the Stars.
