Birmingham Phoenix made a statement on Monday when they became the first men's team in The Hundred this season to defeat Trent Rockets and they can make it four wins from five matches when they host Northern Superchargers.

Phoenix topped the standings in the inaugural edition of The Hundred last year, winning six of their eight regular-season matches before falling short against Southern Brave in the final.

But they have come back stronger and are still yet to lose at Edgbaston in the men's tournament.

The Superchargers suffered a seven-wicket loss to London Spirit last time out, meaning they have lost three of their four matches in 2022, and they are worth opposing in the Midlands.

In The Hundred women's, Birmingham Phoenix are also going well, having started with back-to-back wins over Welsh Fire and Trent Rockets.

Australian ace all-rounder Ellyse Perry has started The Hundred with scores of 58 and 39 not out and looks right at home for Phoenix.

With the Midlands side again fancied to come out on top against the Superchargers, Perry is sure to play a part and looks a worthwhile bet at 5-6 to surpass her runs line of 23.5 with Coral and Ladbrokes.
