Match preview

Australia's build-up to the T20 World Cup included 4-1 series defeats in the West Indies and Bangladesh with depleted teams but the return of the Aussies' senior players has prompted an impressive campaign in the UAE.

Their eight-wicket drubbing by England means they are still not assured of a semi-final place despite beating South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, who were bowled out for just 73 on Thursday.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa took 5-19 against the Tigers and he and the rest of Australia's bowlers may enjoy a crack at the Windies, whose defence of the title they won in 2016 has been hugely disappointing.

Skittled for 55 by England in their opening game, Kieron Pollard's men were also well beaten by South Africa and Sri Lanka either side of a tense three-run win over struggling Bangladesh.

The Windies still have the individual talent to upset Australia but they make little appeal at the prices after the Lankans sealed their elimination on Thursday.

One bet that stands out is the 6-1 about Nicholas Pooran top-scoring for the men from the Caribbean. The wicketkeeper will be part of the new era for this ageing West Indies side and he was promoted to number three in the batting order against Sri Lanka, blasting 46 off 34 balls.

Pooran top-scored from number seven in their previous Group 1 game, hitting four sixes in a 22-ball 40 against Bangladesh, and his last T20 international innings before this tournament was 62 not out from 33 deliveries against Pakistan in Guyana.
