Australia made light work of Sri Lanka in the day-night Test match in Brisbane, romping to an innings victory with Pat Cummins claiming match figures of 10-62.

The paceman exposed a Lankan top order that looked creaky during their 3-0 home defeat to England before Christmas and they are 9-1 to square the series by winning the first Test to be held at Canberra’s Manuka Oval.

Australia’s first-innings total of 323 was built on a stand between Marnus Labuschagne (81) and Travis Head (84), who looks overpriced to top-score again.

Head, a fine limited-overs batsman, showed plenty of grit on his debut against Pakistan in the UAE, making 72 off 175 balls in the second innings to help the Aussies save the game.

The left-hander was one of the more reliable Australia batsmen during the series defeat to India, with first-innings scores of 72 and 58 in the first two matches.

No Australia player has scored a century during their home Test summer but the Manuka Oval curator Brad van Dam is predicting a decent batting surface.

Bet365 are offering 9-2 that there is no individual century in the match.

Recommendation
T Head top Australia first-innings runscorer
1pt 11-2 bet365, Betfair, Paddy Power
