Australia start a three-match Twenty20 series against Pakistan in Sydney and recent collateral form does not make for encouraging reading for Pakistan supporters.

Their team were beaten 3-0 at home by a depleted Sri Lanka line-up who were then swept aside by the Aussies, who won this week's three games by margins of 134 runs, nine wickets and seven wickets.

David Warner piled up 217 runs in three innings against the Lankans and Australia's bowling was ruthless with pacemen Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Kane Richardson and Billy Stanlake supported by miserly spinners Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar.

The Aussies are around 1-3 to win the first game at the SCG and, despite Pakistan's capacity to upset the odds, the hosts look worthy favourites.

One player to watch in the Pakistan ranks is all-rounder Imad Wasim. The left-arm spinner often takes the new ball and is a brutal lower-order hitter. His 41 wickets in 38 T20 internationals and a batting strike-rate of 150 suggest he can eclipse a performance mark of 29.5.
