Mumbai Indians are usually formidable opponents on their home patch but the IPL holders have kicked off the 2018 campaign with two defeats out of two at the Wankhede Stadium.

The second of those reverses was particularly galling for Mumbai given that openers Evin Lewis and Suryakumar Yadav had shared a blistering stand of 102 in nine overs against Delhi.

But Mumbai stumbled in the second half of their innings, and Jason Roy's unbeaten 91 steered the Daredevils to victory, leaving the Indians without a point from their first three games.

They are slight outsiders to see off Bangalore, another big-name franchise with plenty of room for improvement this season.

Virat Kohli's bowlers were taken for 217-4 by Rajasthan's batsmen last time out and two defeats in three suggest they are yet to turn things around after the huge shock of finishing bottom last season.

They lost both meetings with Mumbai last term so this is no easy task but the form of AB de Villiers is a major boost for the Royal Challengers.

The South Africa star, who top-scored with 43 when the teams met at the Wankhede last season, had a superb Test series against Australia in March and has made 44, 57 and 20 in his first three IPL outings.
