Boxing: Tyson Fury v Tom Schwarz - big fight betting preview, tip and TV details
Gypsy King should overwhelm German in Las Vegas
BT Sport Box Office, 4am Sunday
The heavyweight division was blown open by Andy Ruiz's stunning victory over Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury looks to have picked the right man to put himself in prime position for a shot at regaining the belts he once held.
There are no titles on the line at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas but the unbeaten Fury claims to be the lineal heavyweight after seizing Wladimir Klitschko belts in 2015.
The Gypsy King has never tasted defeat in his 28-fight career and he proved that all of his speed, ability and courage remain when drawing with WBC champion Deontay Wilder in December. Most observers thought Fury had done enough to win that fight despite being knocked down in the final round.
Fury has all of the attributes needed to be a world champion again and there is no doubt he has the best boxing skills, movement and chin in the division. It's likely that those are the only two attributes he is going to need against Tom Schwarz.
Schwarz is an unbeaten 25-year-old, but his 24 wins as a professional amount to little. Senad Gashi is probably the biggest name on the German's record but the disqualification win over his compatriot was an awful affair. Gashi has been dismantled by Carlos Takam and Dereck Chisora since that ill-tempered and scrappy contest.
The Halle puncher has relied on his size and physical attributes and he is a big unit at 6ft 5.5ins, but he's unlikely to be able to dominate a man of Fury's stature. Schwarz is slow and lumbering and is perfect for Fury, who should find him an easy target to hit and even easier to evade.
The Gypsy King hasn't got the stunning one-punch power Wilder has but he can overwhelm and outclass his opponents and that looks likely to happen in Las Vegas.
Schwarz isn't anywhere near Fury's level and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the referee step in and stop the fight, nor would it be hard to envisage the Halle man's corner pulling him out to prevent him taking a 12-round battering.
There are various way of supporting a early to mid-round Fury win but Hills' offer of 8-11 that the fight lasts for under 9.5 rounds looks the best value.
