Sunny Edwards undertakes the second defence of his IBF lightweight title in Dubai this weekend, taking on challenger Muhammad Waseem.

Edwards has a perfect record of 17 wins and no defeats and should be able to get a comfortable victory over Waseem, who has fought 13 times as a professional.

The Falcon’s only defeat came in his only previous world title shot where he went down on the judge’s scorecards against Moruti Mthalane in 2018.

Edwards comfortably beat Mthalane in April of last year to secure his world title and on a line through that performance he should be able to pick up a straightforward win again.

The Sutton-born boxer is best priced 1-12 to retain his crown and Waseem is available at 11-1.

Back in London, European welterweight champion David Avanesyan defends his title against Oskari Metz. The challenger is unbeaten in 15 fights but has fought mainly in his native Finland and this is a major jump up in class.

Avanesyan has won his last four bouts by knockout in the sixth round or earlier and against this outmatched opponent, he looks worth backing to repeat the dose.
