Our Champ is only 5lb higher than when an incredibly easy winner of a good Cheltenham handicap on a decent surface at the start of the season, but he lost his way on the soft ground afterwards and had a wind operation before a much-improved run in the Betfair Hurdle last time.
That was on ground Our Champ would have hated, but he cantered into the lead before making a mistake at the second-last. The heavy ground took its toll after that, but these conditions are much more suitable and Our Champ was impressive over this course and distance before his Cheltenham success in September.
