Tom Segal's play of the day at Newmarket

Prince Of Pillo
6.15 Newmarket

While he hasn't proved he still has the speed he showed as a juvenile, Prince Of Pillo has dropped to a good mark.

At two Prince Of Pillo was a close third in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at this track when he started 7-4 favourite but he found things extremely tricky as a three-year-old when he was forced to run against some of the best sprinters around.

There wasn't much promise from him in two runs when switched to Richard Fahey but he shaped as though he was up to winning races again on his comeback run this season when not beaten all that far in the Newmarket handicap won by Tees Spirit.

Prince Of Pillo saw a lot of daylight that day and, with that run under his belt and the handicapper having dropped him another 3lb, he's got his best chance of getting his head back in front.
