Roger Teal, who has seen a stream of promising performers leave his yard for foreign shores this year, has implored connections to consider chasing the dream instead of fuelling the exodus of Britain's equine talent.

Premier Flat trainer John Gosden warned two years ago British racing was in danger of becoming "a nursery for other parts of the world" unless prize-money improved.

Teal appreciates there is no quick fix to that in sight, so understands why Aldeenaary, Palace View, Panama and Sea The Shells – all well-regarded and unexposed winners for him this season – no longer represent his Lambourn operation.
