Gigginstown House Stud have pledged long-term support to Jack Kennedy after the rider broke his leg at the Dublin Racing Festival in a fall that has cost him the ride on leading Gold Cup contender Delta Work at the Cheltenham Festival.

Kennedy underwent surgery on Monday to repair the broken right femur he suffered at Leopardstown on Sunday when unseated from Dallas Des Pictons in the Gaelic Plant Hire Handicap Chase.

In the previous race, he had scaled a glorious high when Delta Work reinforced his Cheltenham credentials with a gallant Irish Gold Cup success, a first in the prestigious Grade 1 for Kennedy and trainer Gordon Elliott.
