'You have to keep the faith' - Denmark buzzing after The Nice Guy finishes first

Patience is a virtue and Monsignor's owner Malcolm Denmark is "still buzzing" after ending a 22-year Cheltenham Festival wait with The Nice Guy in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

Monsignor landed the Champion Bumper in 1999 and the Royal & SunAlliance Novices' Hurdle the following year in Denmark's black and white check silks with yellow sleeves, but the high-profile owner, who made his money through advertising inserts in newspapers, had been out of luck at the meeting since.

There was a welcome change in fortune on Friday, with Denmark describing The Nice Guy's victory as "quite emotional", particularly in sharing the much-anticipated moment with his son Callum.
