World Hurdle winner ready to run as soon as ground eases

Colin Tizzard yesterday said he would be prepared to take Thistlecrack north for his chasing debut if he was unable to find suitable conditions for his stable star nearer to home.

The brilliant World Hurdle winner sailed through his second schooling session over fences under Tom Scudamore yesterday but no target will be identified until there is a break in the dry weather.

Tizzard had considered making an entry for the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite this weekend at Chepstow, where Cue Card made a winning chase debut, but has opted to wait with the going described as good, good to soft in places.
