Woollacott ready to take the wraps off stable star Lalor in Arkle Trial

It has been a frustrating wait but Kayley Woollacott is nervously excited about finally unleashing stable star and Grade 1-winning hurdler Lalor over fences for the first time at Cheltenham on Sunday.

Having missed his intended return to action at Exeter last month and a possible Plan B at Uttoxeter at the start of this month due to quick ground, Lalor is all set to kick-off his season and chase career in the Grade 2 Racing Post Arkle Trophy Trial Novices' Chase.

“So long as they produce good, safe ground, which I’m sure they will, we’re very hopeful of running,” said Woollacott. “It’s been very frustrating as we were hoping to run in the Best Mate Chase in October and I would have liked to have got him out before now.”
