Woodbine raiders finally get off ground after unplanned stopover in Amsterdam

After a three-day delay in Amsterdam the plane due to take Stormy Antarctic and Lord Glitters to Toronto for the lucrative Ricoh Woodbine Mile was finally cleared for take-off late on Thursday afternoon.

Stormy Antarctic's trainer, Ed Walker, has already had to change his own travel plans so as not to arrive ahead of his stable star, who has been aimed at the race for much of the season.

Technical issues with the plane meant that Monday's intended flight was cancelled and now the British challengers will not arrive until Thursday evening local time, less than 48 hours before race time.
