Wolverhampton on Friday recognises the achievements of its most prolific winner when a race is run in honour of Almaty Express.

During a 143-race career Almaty Express won 22 races, no fewer than 18 of them at Wolverhampton, a record number on the track.

The evening card will open with the Almaty Express Classified Stakes (5.50) run over the 6f trip he was successful at five times for the John Weymes stable in the colours of Highmoor Racing.
