Sunday best: Winter heads O'Brien four in Irish 1,000 Guineas

Winter will face seven rivals as she bids to complete a Classic double in Sunday's Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh.

The winner of the Qipco 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month is one of four Aidan O'Brien-trained fillies set to contest Sunday's race, with stablemates Roly Poly, Hydrangea and Asking also engaged.

Joseph O'Brien's Intricately, who finished down the field at Newmarket, will reoppose, with Godolphin's Leopardstown trial winner Bean Feasa also declared.

The Group 3 winner Rehana represents trainer Mick Halford and jockey Pat Smullen, with the Kevin Prendergast-trained Aneen completing the field.

In Sunday's other Group 1 contest at the Curragh, the Tattersalls Gold Cup, Aidan O'Brien will rely on three runners in the absence of Minding, with the Huxley Stakes winner Deauville joined by Somehow and Johannes Vermeer.

Moonlight Magic, who chased home Minding at Naas last time, represents Godolphin's hopes, while Roger Charlton heads across the Irish Sea with Decorated Knight.

Joseph O'Brien will saddle Reckless Gold, with Success Days and Gentil J completing the field.

In the same day's Group 3 Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes, O'Brien again holds a strong hand with three of the nine runners, namely Homesman, Finn McCool and Utah.

A day earlier, Acapulco will face six rivals as she bids to land the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes, while Turret Rocks, a Group 3 winner earlier this month, is among five runners declared for the Lanwades Stud Stakes.
