William Hill may be set to reduce their retail estate still further, with around 30 betting shops based mainly in Northern Ireland potentially up for sale.

The future of the outlets, which may also include a small number on the Isle of Man, is to be decided in the new year, the Racing Post understands, although a sale is not certain.

The shops were part of the Stanley Leisure betting shop chain which William Hill acquired for £505 million in 2005. Potential buyers could include Toal Bookmakers and BoyleSports.
