Who remains in contention to run in Tuesday's Goodwood Cup?
Stradivarius remains in contention for a fifth Goodwood Cup after he was confirmed alongside eight rivals, including Gold Cup conqueror Kyprios and last year's winner Trueshan, for next Tuesday's Group 1.
The John and Thady Gosden-trained star won four Goodwood Cups in a row between 2017 and 2020 before being withdrawn from the contest last year after the ground was deemed too soft.
Stradivarius will not have his usual rider Frankie Dettori – they won 15 Group races as a partnership – with Andrea Atzeni back on board.
Kyprios has been a revelation since stepped up in trip. After winning a Group 3 at Leopardstown by 14 lengths in May, he flourished at Group 1 level when winning the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot by half a length from Mojo Star, with Stradivarius just over a length back in third.
Trueshan put up an almighty performance to win the Northumberland Plate last month carrying 10st 8lb and has served it up to Stradivarius on numerous occasions, but connections will again be on weather watch as last year's success in this contest came on his favoured soft going.
The ground is good to firm, good in places at Goodwood, although Alan King indicated to the Racing Post's The Front Runner that he was eager to run Trueshan if the ground was good next week.
Away He Goes, second to Trueshan last year, Princess Zoe, Coltrane, Enemy, Nate The Great and Thunderous complete the runners left in at Wednesday's six-day confirmation stage.

Platinum Jubilee fifth Sacred heads 13 confirmations for the Group 2 Lennox Stakes and as the winner of last year's Hungerford Stakes at Newmarket the step up to seven furlongs is likely to suit.
Lusail was unlucky in the 2,000 Guineas and followed that with a near miss in the St James's Palace Stakes and a third in the Prix Jean Prat since being switched to prominent tactics.
Seven furlong specialist Pogo, who has taken a pair of Group 3s since returning from a trip to Dubai, is likely to be fancied along with last year's winner Kinross.
The other Group 2 on the card is the Vintage Stakes for juveniles where 14 entries have been made including last month's shock Chesham Stakes winner Holloway Boy, who took the race on debut.
Charlie and Mark Johnston have two representatives entered, Dornoch Castle and Dear My Friend, both of whom are unbeaten in two starts.
