Wetherby's biggest day of the year is just a little bit under the weather

It never rains but it pours, or rather it doesn't and that's the problem. You have to feel an awful lot of sympathy for Wetherby on its biggest day of the year.

The track suffered as much as anywhere from the downpours that did their best to wash away the last jumps season, losing the first and last meetings of the second half of the campaign and racing on heavy ground more often than not in between.

Now that 2018-19 has dawned the position has been turned on its head and raindrops are like gold dust.
