British racing will give a public demonstration of the care given to racehorses during and after their careers on the third annual The Horse Comes First national raceday.

Tuesday's meeting at Newbury will take the lead with a series of events and activities designed to raise awareness of the high welfare standards to which the sport operates, which will also be recognised at the day's other fixtures at Southwell, Yarmouth and Chelmsford.

Newbury's last evening meeting of the 2016 Flat season will host a painted horse display in which former racehorse Knight Pass will have the anatomy of a thoroughbred painted on his body.
