If this was a normal weekend sports fans would have the choice of the Scottish National or Greenham Stakes meeting – complemented by FA Cup semi-finals and World Championship snooker.

The coronavirus pandemic may have wiped out the traditional sporting calendar once again, but there is still sport to watch during lockdown.

Racing

Tom Marquand continued his excellent spell in Australia with another Group 1 win last weekend and he has four good rides at Randwick on Saturday morning.

His big ride comes in the Group 1 Moet & Chandon Champagne Stakes (5.20 GMT), as he partners Holyfield for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. The two-year-old was an impressive winner at Rosehill last time and has leading claims again.

Marquand has another shot at the other Group 1 on the card with Fierce Impact, for Matthew Smith, in the Schweppes All Aged Stakes (6.40). He also partners Rocha Clock (4.10) and Oceanex (6.00) on Saturday.

Elsewhere there is quality racing in Japan, including one of the world's richest jump races – the Nakayama Grand Jump. On Sunday there is the Japanese 2,000 Guineas, known locally as the Satsuki Sho.

On Saturday evening, look out for action from the US with the feature the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park.

Our US tipping maestro Tom Collins will have selections for Saturday and Sunday's action available on our website and on the Racing Post app.

Sunday morning brings a card from behind closed doors at Sha Tin in Hong Kong.

Darts

A new tournament has been introduced by the PDC, with Friday night marking the start of the Home Tour.

The event sees four players take part in a round-robin tournament each night – playing darts through a live video service that is streamed online to watch and can also be bet on.

The first stage of the competition will last 32 days with the winner from each evening progressing to the next round. The action starts at 7.30pm every night and can be watched on the PDC website or through various bookmakers' streams.

Football

For those missing their footballing fill, perhaps you should turn your attention to the Belarus Premier League, with four matches on Saturday.

The biggest game of the afternoon sees BATE Borisov, the most successful team in the country, host FC Torpedo-BelAZ. The visitors have enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
