On the eve of his final day in charge at British racing's most iconic venue, Andrew Tulloch urged the sport to do more to communicate its commitment to welfare.

The 54-year-old steps down on Saturday after 24 years at the helm at Aintree, first as operations manager and as clerk of the course since 2000, and just days before a general election in which the Labour and Liberal Democrat manifestos touched on racing welfare issues.
