Watch Graham Lee and Adam McNamara discuss mental health
To mark World Mental Health day, former jumps jockey Graham Lee has opened up on the issues faced by riders and the support that is available to them.
In a short documentary Lee and fellow rider Adam McNamara talk about the pressures of a career in the saddle, both physically and mentally, and the influence it has had on their lives.
The Jockeys Education & Training Scheme (Jets) provide expert and specialist support to riders – they have worked closely with the Professional Jockeys Association and jockey performance consultant Aodhagan Conlon in the film.
The film is one of the Jockey Matters series produced by Jets, which highlights a number of welfare issues riders face.
