Waiting Patiently may have had his 32Red King George VI Chase chance boosted without leaving his box, but trainer Ruth Jefferson is quick to stress the size of the task he faces on Boxing Day.

The unbeaten chaser had been a best-priced 8-1 for the Kempton showpiece on Saturday morning but he is now quoted at no bigger than 6-1, despite not having been in action.

Those odds reflect the heavy Betfair Chase defeat suffered by Might Bite, who almost doubled in price for the King George, with fellow Kempton contenders Native River and Thistlecrack also beaten behind Bristol De Mai at Haydock.
