'Very positive feedback' - Kempton happy after latest all-weather refurbishment

Barney Clifford, long-standing clerk of the course at Kempton, has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the course's Polytrack surface following a recent £400,000 refurbishment and expects the work to "reap further benefit" over the winter.

Kempton's Polytrack surface was originally laid in 2006 with an expected lifespan of ten years but major refurbishment work every three years since 2012 has increased its longevity.

The latest work was carried out over a two-and-a-half-week period in July, with a whopping 1,000 tonnes of new material added to the surface.
