Juddmonte International winner Postponed: probably heading straight for the Arc
Juddmonte International winner Postponed: probably heading straight for the Arc

Roger Varian is delighted at how Postponed has come out of last Wednesday’s Juddmonte International Stakes and has confirmed the five-year-old is unlikely to be seen again before the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly on October 2.

A top-priced 9-2 chance with Betfair for the Arc, Postponed will be bidding for a fourth successive Group 1 of 2016 and Varian reports he has come out of the race "really, really well, looking for all the world as if he has come forward again for it".

Varian said: “I think he’ll go straight for the Arc and I'd doubt he will run before then. He’ll tick over for a week or two, just cantering every day, but he’s had a couple of breaks already this year, as his races have been so well spaced out, and he won’t need too much of a break. The Arc will come quick enough – it’s only six weeks away.
