Usher seeks belated win as consolation for appeal loss

Mark Usher seeks some "wry justice" at Chepstow today when Bayston Hill, who had a victory awarded to him by a stewards' inquiry taken away at an appeal hearing, has his first start since he was restored to the maiden ranks.

He carries top weight in the ROA/Racing Post Jackpot Nursery on the strength of four second places, but spent 16 days as the 'winner' of a Wolverhampton maiden after interference he received from first-past-the-post Woodukheleyfit led stewards to reverse the finishing order.

Woodukheleyfit's trainer Sylvester Kirk challenged the decision and a BHA appeal panel found in his favour and reinstated the original result.
