Unexpected visitor as plane makes emergency landing at Ascot

Plenty of equine stars have drawn comparisons to aeroplanes at Ascot down the years but it was a real one that took centre stage on Saturday as a light aircraft made an emergency landing on the jumps course.

Firefighters were called to the racecourse as the aircraft made the unexpected arrival at around 6.45pm.

All four passengers were safely disembarked and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there was no sign of a fire.
