Bristol de Mai may be seen as a Betfair Chase specialist, but he "could run a big race" in the Randox Health Grand National according to trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.

Bristol De Mai is now a leading contender with some bookmakers for the world's most famous chase after he landed the first Grade 1 contest of the season in Britain for the third time in four years at Haydock on Saturday.

He was handed topweight for the Aintree showpiece in 2019 only to be pulled out at the second forfeit stage to focus on the Bowl after finishing third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but had been a possible runner in last season's abandoned race, when he was set to receive 2lb from dual winner Tiger Roll.
