This weekend the 2020 British Flat turf season was due to get under way at Doncaster, and with it the first race of the season for two-year-olds, the Brocklesby.

But with the season suspended until at least the end of April, this year's crop of juveniles will not have the chance to make it on to the track for weeks, and possibly months.

All horses may arbitrarily share the same birthday of January 1, but they are foaled at different times, meaning in the early part of the season a two-year-old may be several months older, or younger, than their rivals.
