The village of Lambourn turned out in force yesterday to celebrate the life of Glyn Foster, the groom whose care and attention helped turn See You Then from a savage into a three-time Champion Hurdle winner.

Foster, who died at the age of 74 last month, was a well-respected figure in the Lambourn racing community and became a mainstay at the yards of See You Then's trainer Nicky Henderson and Barry and Charlie Hills.

They joined friends and family at St Michael and All Angels Church as tributes were paid to the man whose career started as a 15-year-old apprentice with George Todd at Manton.
