Outsider Torquator Tasso given RPR of 126 following 'bang up-to-scratch' Arc
Torquator Tasso caused a 72-1 shock to win the 100th running of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, providing Germany with a third Arc winner after Star Appeal in 1975 and Danedream in 2011.
This looked a bang up-to-scratch running beforehand and with Tarnawa (RPR 122) and Hurricane Lane (125) running right up to their previous best, the form looks solid, giving a firm foundation for the winner's performance of 126.
That figure represents a significant improvement for Torquator Tasso and it places him right at the mid-point of recent winners, ahead of the likes of Sottsass and Found but behind Golden Horn and the better of both Enable and Treve's Arc wins.
