Top trainers with their horses to follow for Cheltenham's November meeting
Saturday
Harry Derham, assistant trainer to Paul Nicholls
Mick Pastor goes for the Triumph trial (12.40) and he looks a very nice horse. He's only a three-year-old and is a new one from JP McManus who won his previous start at Auteuil by six lengths in May.
Chris Gordon
Highway One O One enjoyed a nice blow over hurdles last month and is in great order at home ahead of the BetVictor Gold Cup (2.25). I can't say he's well in, as he's an exposed handicapper to an extent, but he's got age on his side and he handled Cheltenham well last year. It doesn't look like one of those old-time BetVictors where Pipey would have something or Eddie O'Grady would be sending something over, so you never know. It's just lovely to have a runner there.
Gary Moore
Botox Has, who runs in the Triumph trial (12.40), won a pretty moderate race at Fontwell but I'd like to think he's improved since then.
Tim Vaughan
I think we'll run Eva's Oskar in the Listed handicap hurdle (3.00). He's going the right way and is a progressive horse who is, hopefully, still off a sensible handicap mark. We're just waiting to see if Tobefair runs as we'd be 2lb out of the weights if he does, which would be a bit of a shame. We'll sit quiet on that and see, but the conditions should be fine for our horse. He'll handle rain if it comes and should have a nice chance.
Sunday
Nicky Henderson
We’ve only left two in the Greatwood (3.00) – Dame De Compagnie and Countister. Dame De Compagnie is a good mare and she worked very well on Saturday. They're both owned by JP McManus but he's quite happy to run them both.
