Following two blank days, jump racing is set to return with a bang on Thursday as Top Notch heads five declarations for the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase which has been salvaged and transferred to Taunton after Huntingdon's card was cancelled on Sunday.

Nicky Henderson's Top Notch, an impressive winner of the Grade 2 Christy 1965 Chase at Ascot last month, will be opposed by stablemate Josses Hill, Vaniteux, Max Ward and Ptit Zig.

As expected, popular chaser Cue Card was not declared and will instead be aimed at the 32Red King George on Boxing Day.

No weather problems are expected at Taunton, which has escaped the worst of the cold snap that has blighted jump racing in recent days. The going is good to soft, good in places, but between 6-12mm of rain is expected on Wednesday with further showers on Thursday.

The £50,000 contest, due off at 2.45, is the feature race on Taunton's eight-race card.
