Tonight's racing: three to note at Aintree, Cork and Hamilton
Following afternoon action at Newbury, Newmarket and York, there are four evening meetings to get your teeth stuck into. Aintree and Downpatrick host jumps cards, while Hamilton and Cork continue the Flat action. Here are three horses worth following.
Pineapple Rush
5.35 Aintree
Pineapple Rush faces a much stiffer task than in her two starts in novice hurdles at Sedgefield and Hexham, but she has looked like a mare worth following and her opening handicap mark of 120 does not seem harsh.
With just four starts under Rules, Pineapple Rush, who finished placed in a Listed bumper on debut, remains open to plenty of improvement and is soon likely to be operating at a higher level.
Ninjago
8.35 Hamilton
Ninjago didn't run well on his trip over to Ireland at Navan last time but he was far from disgraced on his two previous outings and has dropped to a dangerous mark of 76.
He won off a 2lb higher mark last season and has even been competitive from 10lb higher, so is well worth chancing in this weaker affair for the in-form Paul Midgley stable.
Written Word
8.40 Cork
Written Word sets a clear standard on form based on her sixth in a Listed contest last month and she should get off the mark this evening.
She was making her first start on turf in that 1m2f Listed event at Navan and, despite showing signs of inexperience and not enjoying a clear run, shaped well to make good ground from the rear.
There should still be plenty more to come and this looks like a fine opportunity.
