Tonight's racing: three runners who catch the eye
There were some tasty treats from the meetings this afternoon, but if you have room for more Salisbury's Flat fixture starts at 5.45, while Ffos Las stages a jumps card, which begins at 6.00.
Gloriux
6.45 Salisbury
Running in the colours of smart sprinter Cotai Glory, this three-year-old made a pleasing start when second in a Doncaster maiden last year, but has perhaps not gone on since. Trainer Charlie Hills, however, was keen to run the 110,000gns breeze-up buy here and reckons he definitely has a maiden in him.
Sunny Future
7.15 Salisbury
While there might be improvement in Gloriux, it is unlikely the 11-year-old Sunny Future has much more to offer, but he should not be ruled out at his beloved Salisbury. Trained and owned by Malcolm Saunders, the veteran has gained six of his 11 wins from 25 outings at the track with two of those coming over tonight's course and distance.
8.00 Ffos Las
County Dublin-based trainer Patrick Griffin and his son James are regular raiders to Britain and have two at Ffos Las this evening with Heist by far the more likely to make the trip worthwhile. A son of Galileo, he began life with Aidan O'Brien, but soon switched to the Griffin camp and won four times last year, including at Ludlow in October. He appreciates decent conditions.
