Tonight's action: three to note at Wolverhampton
It has been a busy Saturday with great action at the home of jump racing, Cheltenham, and if you've got some afternoon winnings to play with, how about an eight-race card from Wolverhampton? Here are three runners to note
Tropics
7.15
Dean Ivory's sprint veteran is without a win since June 2015, but he continues in good heart, and bumped into an improver when second last time out at Newcastle.
A two-time runner-up in the Group 1 July Cup, Tropics has been a fantastic servant for Ivory, and looks to have a good chance to secure a ninth career success.
Maifalki
8.15
It looks very significant that Maifalki returns to 1m1½f this evening, as the four-year-old is two from two over course and distance.
Both those wins came for Mark Walford, and Maifalki has since joined Jason Ward. On his last start for new connections Maifalki was fourth at the track over 1m4f, and he can enhance his record here.
This five-year-old could be an interesting recruit for David Loughnane, having joined the yard from Ireland.
Loughnane is yet to have a winner at the track from 21 previous runners, but Shepherd's Purse ran well on more than one occasion on the all-weather at Dundalk. He also won off a mark of 90 at Gowran last year and competes off 78 here.
