There are two evening meetings following on from the festival action at Goodwood and Galway, with Sandown (5.45 start) and Leicester (5.55) staging Flat fixtures, both of which are available to watch on Racing UK. Here we pick out three horses it could pay to follow.

Ghayadh 5.55 Leicester

The opening novice stakes at Leicester looks set to be a straight shootout between Yafta and Ghayadh and, at the prices, the latter holds some appeal.

An impressive scorer on debut at Beverley, the Hugo Palmer-trained colt was fourth at Newbury last time out when he paid the price for trying to match strides with the eventual winner.

He has to give weight away all round but he has the ability to return to winning ways here.

Westerland6.55 Sandown

Frankie Dettori travels from Goodwood to Sandown just to ride the John Gosden-trained son of Frankel, Westerland, for Khalid Abdullah and punters should take the hint.

Westerland was last seen in action at Royal Ascot when finishing down the field in the Chesham Stakes but this represents an excellent opportunity to get back on track.

He has a penalty to deal with but he showed lots of promise on his first two starts and has proved he acts on rain-softened ground.

Padrinho8.25 Sandown

John Best has his yard firing on all cylinders and Padrinho can keep the trainer's red-hot spell going in the 1m6f handicap for three-year-olds at Sandown.

Padrinho is up 8lb for his victory over course and distance last time but he routed his rivals and the form has been franked since.

Having taken a big step forward the time before when finishing second at Wetherby, he is in good form and jockey Kieren Fox has also been racking up the winners of late.
