Buveur D'Air faces toughest test of his career in Fighting Fifth says Henderson

Nicky Henderson believes dual Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air will face the toughest test of his career when he makes his seasonal debut in the BetVictor Fighting Fifth Hurdle on Saturday.

Buveur D’Air will bid for a seventh Grade 1 success and 11th straight victory when he lines up at Newcastle, where he is set to face Irish superstar Samcro and Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Summerville Boy, but Henderson thinks the Fighting Fifth will be “a tough starting place”.

The champion trainer said: “This will be as big a test as he’s faced anywhere, and it’s first time out.
