There is a good chance you never once heard a single word uttered by the man who just died.

Perhaps from days gone by, when he was younger, healthier, more visible, you might recall the occasional short post-race interview, likely given out of courtesy, not desire. His passion was unquestionable but largely unspoken. Prince Khalid Abdullah was an owner, breeder and lover of thoroughbreds who lived by an old racing mantra. He let the horses do the talking, and they spoke volumes for him.

So, too, did his actions. There were few words but there were many more deeds, perhaps most perfectly embodied in his finest work.
